Synopsis
An impossible story gets an incredible adaptation, courtesy of director Ava DuVernay’s singular vision. Thirteen-year-old Meg Murry (Storm Reid) struggles in her day-to-day life after her scientist father (Chris Pine) goes missing… until three mysterious beings (played by Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling) offer her the chance to travel across space to rescue him. Protip: when Oprah urges you to be a warrior – you listen! Joined by her brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe) and friend Calvin (Levi Miller), Meg visits incredible planets to combat the evil that threatens the universe using the only weapon she has at her disposal: love. Also starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Peña, and André Holland, DuVernay’s take on Madeleine L’Engle’s classic novel is vibrant and heartwarming from start to finish. A timeless tale of light vs. darkness, A Wrinkle In Time reminds us that the most epic conflicts are the ones in our own hearts – and those conflicts are truly universal.

Every time giant 100-foot-tall Oprah appeared I screamed
Patrick WillemsMar 14, 2018it means well. this has a pulsating heart, beating deep beneath miles of mess. i can feel it, the movie itself constantly reminds me it’s there, but sometimes that isn’t enough the headlining actors make this a painless and sometimes joyful ride, and the child actors do…

When Oprah’s character was listing a bunch of ‘warriors’ like Nelson Mandela or Einstein, I thought she would say ‘Oprah Winfrey’ but she didn’t. Lame.
manilazicApr 9, 2018Oprah is a 100ft drag queen and Reese Witherspoon turns into a flying lettuce monster.
Buddy OMar 7, 2018At a time when Disney would rather fund suffocatingly faithful (and/or toxically garish) “live-action” remakes of classic films than roll the dice on original stories for a new generation of kids, there’s something refreshing — and downright beautiful — about what Ava…

wow this is relatable because i too would travel to the ends of the universe just to find chris pine
shayMar 6, 2018If Tomorrowland and Annihilation had a baby and that baby happened to be the worst movie ever.
Dane FutrellMar 6, 2018Kinda risible, kinda fascinating? When it's bad, it's at least weird-bad, but it also suffers from hitting its themes of empowerment and self-actualization home way too hard in every goddamn scene in case we didn't get it already. I can't hate a movie that immediately…

This movie feels like the definition of artificial manufacturing. A big phrase for a big budget. The visuals are great but the world-building was terrible. It's mostly forgettable. Unlike the cast who are unforgettably intolerable. They use their real-life 'charm' and it stabs through you like a…
This movie make me feel nothing. I can’t even give it a dislike, it’s just existent. Some good visuals like the scene in the colorful prison, those hyper-pop windows wallpaper backgrounds, and Chris Pine. I don’t even know what else to say, it’s just one of the movies ever.
So this where Disney's downfall began, I can't believe I'm saying this, but THIS, was the worst Disney movie I've ever watched. It didn't have any flair, no Disney magic, the plot wasn't confusing, but it was bad, the characters, bad, the music, bad, everything, WOW

Love the book, but this adaption wasn’t always that accurate. I didn’t really like the changes. Wasn’t memorable to me. Some of the visuals were nice and some felt too fake/cheesy, like I didn’t really like the costuming/makeup of the Misses. Good cast though.

TCTrent CarterGood cinematography. But not much like the book at all. Apart from the book, a clever movie overall.
SFSonda FinleyThe movie was good; however, I've read the book and wished they would have stayed a little bit closer to the story. Otherwise, it was a fun movie.
