Federico Fellini. I've heard so much. As countless others have proclaimed, he was a master of the cinema. So, with massively high expectations, I dove head-first into my first Fellini. Simply put, 8 1/2 is magical. I have never seen a film that weaves in and out of…

It must’ve been hella awkward for Fellini’s wife to watch this.... Also yeah this is a masterpiece. 10 / 10

Mixing the sacred and the obscene, 8 1/2 is deeply profound. Despite being a melancholic tale of guilt and aimlessness, it somehow manages to be simultaneously comedic and heartbreaking. Fellini is a master in the very sense of the word. (9/10)
It could be said that the true beauty of 8 1/2 is found in its confusion. It’s found in the physical and psychological mayhem. It’s found in Fellini’s unique film language and audacious visual approach.

from the first surrealist dream sequence, 8 1/2 brings you in close and never lets you go, an intellectual meta-masterpiece with flawless composure. the writing and performances are exceptional and the narrative is something wholly unique and special. directors forever
Yeah there's no way in hell this was a comedy Fellini, I don't care what kind of note you taped to the camera was supposed to tell you. 4/5, incredible had to rewatch.

One of the most visually dynamic films from this time. Cinematography and direction are outstanding. Definitely gonna check out more of Fellini’s work. 8/10
Am I a fake cinephile for not gooning over this. I did like it but it wasn’t doing much for me really.
