Another day, another Stephen King book being turned into a movie.

Salem’s Lot, a movie based on King’s second published novel, is in the works from producer James Wan (AquamanThe Conjuring) and screenwriter Gary Dauberman (It), Deadline reports. Wan and Dauberman are key creative fixtures in Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s The Conjuring Universe, so the two collaborating on this adaptation for New Line more than makes sense.

For fans of King, Salem’s Lot is high up there on their list of the author’s books deserving of a theatrical release. The novel centers on writer Ben Mears, who returns to the titular town to work on his new book only to discover that the place is quickly becoming home to vampires. This is the second time Hollywood has tackled Salem’s Lot; the first was a 1979 TV movie directed by Tobe Hooper (Texas Chain Saw Massacre).

Dauberman has recently become the go-to screenwriter for Stephen King adaptations and for horror. In addition to writing 2017’s horror hit It and its upcoming sequel, Dauberman has written Conjuring Universe titles Annabelle: Creation and The NunAnnabelle Comes Home, the next chapter in the shared universe of horror films, will serve as Dauberman’s directorial debut.

Salem’s Lot is one of King’s most terrifying works, and we have a lot of faith in the It screenwriter to deliver the chills.

It: Chapter Two haunts theaters on September 6.
