We are delighted to announce the first YTO Benefit: Chamber Music Series. With performances by Dr. Vanessa Fountain on harp and Dr. Joshua Phillips on clarinet.Dr. Vanessa Fountain holds a Bachelor's and Master's of Music in harp performance from the California State University Los Angeles, where she was named the CSU system's youngest to receive a graduate degree. In 2005 she earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts in harp and musicology from the University of Arizona, where she was the Graduate Teaching Assistant to professor Carrol McLaughlin and assistant director of the world-renowned HarpFusion. She has also been honored as the University of Arizona's youngest doctoral graduate, receiving her degree at age 19.Dr. Joshua Phillips is an active freelance clarinetist and teacher throughout Southern California and is on faculty at Victor Valley College and Riverside City College, Coil School for the Performing Arts. Joshua recently won the position of Second Clarinet in the San Luis Obispo Symphony, joining the SLO Symphony in their 2023-2024 season.Proceeds support the Youth Training Orchestra of Cathedral City.
