I can only dream of being this much of a hater
LiamApr 2, 2024Small British comedies released in the spring, starring prestigious actresses being silly, and only watched by seniors and unemployed queers on a weekday matinee are the backbone of the entertainment industry.

The old people in the cinema thought it was hilarious, they were actually loling.🤣 made it funnier. But deffo better than I thought it would be
A satire comedy that reminded me of movies like, 'The Banshees of Inisherin', any Martin McDonagh movie for that matter. The story is so absurd that it's completely believable, especially how it's tied to social issues like gender, religion, and education. I didn't laugh much but on the swearing…
it was decent. i did think they let on who sent the letters a bit too early on which made the whole thing feel like it dragged on a bit. the plot was extremely predictable so i would have appreciated a twist. it was funny but all the best bits were in the trailer so lost effect

really nice cast. saw it in theaters and it got chuckles out of me and everyone else + lovee the aesthetic of the film. this movie reminded me a bit of ‘see how they run’
What a fun British comedy. It’s ridiculous and silly but fun. It’s a little slow at times but overall a great watch!

This was such an easy film to watch. The insults and foul language will have you crying laughing and the comedic timing is on point. I’ve seen a lot of British films but never one like this. The story was so vivid, gripping, and engrossing with the mood swinging between high drama and comedy. 9/10
Cosy little lighthearted comedy that has the same vibes as a McDonough tale (In Bruges, The Guard, Calvary, etc.). And speaking of, Jessie Buckley needs to work with one of the brothers there. Great cast overall, with Buckley and the always fun Olivia Coleman leading the charge.
Very funny and entertaining mystery that never takes itself too serious. The movie has a whimsical and charming feel, almost like it is a much less serious Wes Anderson film. Quirky characters and a very well designed story, with a satisfying end. I laughed out loud a few times!
