Synopsis

This was such an easy film to watch. The insults and foul language will have you crying laughing and the comedic timing is on point. I’ve seen a lot of British films but never one like this. The story was so vivid, gripping, and engrossing with the mood swinging between high drama and comedy. 9/10
Lee likedWicked Little LettersCosy little lighthearted comedy that has the same vibes as a McDonough tale (In Bruges, The Guard, Calvary, etc.). And speaking of, Jessie Buckley needs to work with one of the brothers there. Great cast overall, with Buckley and the always fun Olivia Coleman leading the charge.

The movie has a whimsical and charming feel, almost like it is a much less serious Wes Anderson film. Quirky characters and a very well designed story, with a satisfying end. I laughed out loud a few times!

The performances of Buckley and Colman rescue much of what’s salvageable in the narrative and there’s some interest in how the truth will be revealed but the movie isn’t as funny as it needs to be for the satirical elements to work.
