If you liked the show, you’ll really like the doc. I hope CBS eventually gives the entire series the HD treatment.
Make Season 8. I will watch it!
Ira Behr mentioned not making it about talking heads, I would have preferred talking heads; something more intimate with the actors, what they are up to now. Although I have to say, Terry Farrell's honesty on how she was treated near the end of her tenure, and some of the cast and crew's impression of Avery Brooks was both refreshing and enlightening...more of that is what I wanted.
Really nice to see the group that was Trek ‘family’ through the run of their show. Interesting insights to the past and exciting (yet teasing) view of a possible future
Very enjoyable doc. Makes me want to binge the show, haven’t watched since it originally aired.
Absolutely loved it. It was the perfect tribute to an amazing show and cast. Great job!
A great doc with stuff worth seeing for casual and die-hard fans alike.
A reminder of what a ground-breaking show DS9 was, and that there is still a lot of story to be told. Wonderful to see these fine actors and creators again.
You don’t realize how much you missed these characters until you hear from the actors themselves. Great seeing the Defiant in HD. Hopefully CBS remasters the whole series and releases it.
Who we leave behind? Avery Brooks. A smattering of content with no direction, Bluebeard forgets his audience is inherently die hard fans of DS9. With sporadic interviews spanning decades and multiple sources, the general “we have something to prove” angle falls flat and wastes a lot of time.
It was interestingly made, for sure, but it was also pretty cringey at times. DS9 fans must see it though, for the "what could have been " scenes.
Loved it. Makes me want to watch the entire 7 seasons for the 4th time!!
Great for fans. Something we've been waiting for, and it was worth the wait.
Round table discussion got a little boring.
Amazing. As it was in as a teenager, to now seeing things as an adult, I have such a deeper appreciation for DS9, and this only made me love it more. All the people that made that show being so close and tight-knit to this day, and knowing that some are no longer with us, only amplified the impact that it has had in entertainment, as well as the people involved and all of us that got to watch it and love it, and get to love it more now.
thank you to the cast and crew for sharing their lives! A must see for any fan, new.or old, of DS9!
I only wish they could restart the series again... it would kill Discovery 10x over.
What a wonderfully entertaining love letter to such a great television show. Highly recommended to anyone who has a fondness for DS9, or just wants to know more about the weirdest, wonderfulest little Trek show.
This was my third viewing of the doc and I teared up each time. Such great memories, and great to see the cast and crew telling their stories. Excellent!
Just up-res it to HD already CBS. You’ll make your money back. Good grief!
DS9 was a fantastic show! Of all the Trek series, I wish they’d bring that one back or continue the storyline w/ a movie or mini series. It was great to revisit it and see the characters/actors once more. However, the cost of tickets, drinks & popcorn and the hour drive to the theatre was not worth the content, unfortunately. I left the theatre thinking I just threw away $80 on a movie that was about nothing...a story about a show that isn’t going to happen. Basically, I paid to watch people say “wouldn’t it be cool if...” But as I said, it was nice to see the actors and have a few laughs. Pay Per View would have been better, IMHO.
I will watch another 7 seasons. DS9 is my favorite Star Trek series.
It was a good doc but got wildly political out of the blue for no reason whatsoever. It was jarring. Ira then started flogging himself for not being woke enough decades ago. It was very forced and felt like he was begging for far left praise. It was completely unnecessary and really threw me out of the doc. You guys did great back then and have nothing to apologise about.
Got up and left after seeing Far Left group think racism injected into the conversation....so sad that the Left ruins everything they touch
Great! HD was beautiful.
Very informative and fun to watch. Will have to keep an eye out for Garak gay clues as that never occurred to me watching DS9 the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time around. Just thought he was sneaky. Nana was fabulous! Avery was surprising and lovable. I think I can finally forgive Terry for leaving... :-D xoxo
I loved seeing the cast again! I really missed them. I wish so much they would make Season 8 a reality!!!
greqt mix of behind the scenes info and entertainment
Uneven, oddly paced. At the end, Ira Behr and Nana Visitor talk about all the great stuff that they didn't have time to feature—that's because a portion of the running time is given to the conceit a reuniting the writers room so that they can conceptualize a hypothetical Season 8 premiere. You could argue this was a pitch for doing one more season of DS9.
Bashir: Out of all the stories you told me, which ones that you told me were true and which ones weren't? Garak: My doctor, they all were true. Bashir: Even the lies? Garak: Especially the lies.
Good for the casual or die-hard fan, or someone curious about what the production of a TV show is like.
Just a fun and nostalgic way to spend an evening.
I miss DS9...🤗
Would have given 5⭐ but theatre didn't have commemorative poster!
A must for any DS9 fan!
A wonderful expression of fandom that doesn't attempt to sugar coat the issues they know they faltered on. It provides a humorous and inspirational insight into the creative process.
A great doc on what was a groundbreaking Trek series. Show DS9 the love.
Great doc, we really enjoyed it! I'm so ready for season 8!! We lost the signal or whatever it was during the round table post credits, so that was disappointing.
A must watch for any fan and much more engaging then I thought
Great to hear the interviews, see the writers at work, lots of humor, and lots of feels. Almost as good as seeing the cast live at a convention.
Would so watch the Season 8 idea. Also enjoyed hearing the personal stories
If you’ve seen DS9, you’ll want the series to be remastered in HD. If you haven’t seen it, you’ll want to binge watch it.
A work of love. Wonderful experience.
It was a great tribute to an underappreciated gem. We totally need the season 8 after the premiere they talked about :)
Please bring on Season 8
Pure beautiful genius
"Deep Space Nine" will always be my favorite Star Trek. This was a fitting tribute.
Definitely took me back and I walked away with a new appreciation for all the hard work from everyone involved.
A must watch for any fans of DS9. It was crowd funded so had a little more leeway to tell the story as they wanted to tell it. Season 8!
A wonderful retrospective for a great Star Trek series! I always felt that there was so much more that could have been done with the series when it ended. Maybe there still can be a follow up sequel!!!!
