Few movies correctly portray the sadness and loneliness of childhood, this one does and does it well.

Rewatched this, it’s kinda weird and random, but at the same time it was good i wish i could see a number two of this movie tbh
there's definitely a lot to it, but it made me uncomfortable and even a bit disturbed in some bits, i'm not going to lie. there's definitely a lot to analyze and understand about it or whatever. it felt realistic and there was LOTS of second hand embarrassment. i liked it but meh
What is this movie supposed to be? It was all over the place like they tried to make a series into a movie last minute. Not the worst I’ve seen though. I could see how some people may like it. It has a certain dark vibe to it that makes it interesting and, in a way, enjoyable.

Did this make me uncomfortable? Yes. Did it also showcase a niche of what its like to be an "ugly kid", someone that just wants to be loved yet they can never rely on their parents and so they get used and abused by people in the midst of looking to feel loved? sadly, yes..
At times uncomfortable, even disturbing, but I think a very realistic coming-of-age film that explores the struggles of middle school & being the ignored middle child. Dawn’s actress was very good at portraying the awkward, bullied “geek”. Explored lots of different topics.

She’s so me. I wish I watched this before I watched wiener dog cause it makes so much more sense now. I genuinely was like wow I guess Todd solondz just really loves the name dawn 😭😭. Idk why I assumed that before thinking the movies were connected. But anyway this is hilarious and very feel bad…
Um this movie was alright… I think it was kinda random and all over the place at times. The storyline was good but was not well thought out. Also I hated how the main characters love interest was. I didn’t enjoy that he was basically abusing her to show he liked her. 6/10
I was recommended this by someone who said this was one of their favorite movies…I’m a little concerned as to why. I didn’t get it, is it because she’s an outcast? And the young boy is being abusive to her telling her he’s gonna rape and kill her? Didn’t care for it
