•lily•Dec 4, 2022Pre-sledgehammer the movie was a struggle. Post-sledgehammer the movie was brutally fun. Consensus: Always add more sledgehammers.

This is a good 3/5. The movie is dumb fun but it’s an extremely good time.

olivia 🏳️⚧️ 🍉Dec 1, 2022So, this is the best movie I’ve ever seen. It’s Citizen Candy Cane. It’s 200 proof Christmas Spirits. It sleighs all the competition. High octane, jolly old Saint Ridiculous. I loved it.

I’m a simple man, I see Home Alone tribute scenes and I’m in.
SethsreviewsDec 26, 2022There's one chimney related kill near the end of the movie that instantly bumped this from a 2.5/5 to a 3/5

10/10 i think this is my new favorite Christmas movie. i love gorey movies and this is definitely that. its very funny, and David Harbour did an amazing job. i will probably watch this every Christmas from now on lmao 💀

Definitely was a great movie and the name of the title says it all. Love the Christmas humor in it and David Harbour was fantastic! 💯 🎅🏼
David as Santa is 10/10, but the movie as a whole doesn’t resonate with me. It’s a movie for adults, but the story and dialogue felt like it was for kids. I’m sorry, I can’t put this as a movie I particularly enjoy. Bored me in the theatre, just waiting for it to end.

Instant Christmas classic! Home Alone meets Die Hard. Check this one out!

It's just fun. If you like fun, go. Enjoy. If you don't, you suck. Stay home.
Exactly what I expected and more. David Harbour was excellent as Santa.
Metacritic
Violent Night isn’t going to go down as a classic (although it may have cult classic potential) but, despite all the gore and violence and other R-rated material, it’s arguably less offensive than the kind of bilge proliferated by Netflix and Lifetime/Hallmark/etc. in the name of Holiday Cheer. There are certainly worse ways to spend a chilly December evening.
Now comes the gruesomely bloody, cheerfully tasteless, fantastically naughty and entertaining Christmas thriller Violent Night, which is basically “Die Hard” with candy canes in a mansion.
