A potent blend of pulpy genre trappings. A post-apocalyptic gothic horror western. A film that feels like someone crossed the Castlevania franchise with Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star). This is something that checks almost all of my boxes, and I can't, for the life…
Aberrant GhoulSep 7, 20191985 Techno Hammer Horror Western jam with a shitload of amazing monsters, ghost beasts, and wicked Escape From New York/Mad Max mutants... paced just to my liking and drenched in gothic atmos with Elm Street reminiscent synths and explosive body chunks/split in half…

Vampire Hunter D is not a deep nor complex work. Instead it exists just for its own vagueness and world-building, with a plot used as an excuse to tie together various action scenes and cool images. It's shallow and simple in a way. However Vampire Hunter D delivers…

comrade_yuiMay 25, 2025A cursed mixtape of cyberpunk darkwave, post-apocalyptic western and dungeon synth. It’s Mad Max meets Nosferatu in a Sisters of Mercy music video. Castlevania, but make it horny.

"Smile, even if it hurts... that's what being a man means." - D, Doris needs more clothing. Vampire Hunter D is hired to kill a vampire so that a bitten woman can remain human. It's like an anime western with video game vibes... oh, and vampires. The animation is…
{Todd}Jun 21, 2024JUNIMATION II: F*** YEAH! So per the recommendation of Sin and others, I did a little run on some of the director’s films and I can’t remember now but I believe this one was one of the suggestions, or maybe one everyone told me not to check out. Whatever the case, here I…

Still relevant after so many years 😮💨
Dexter dislikedVampire Hunter DThis movie SUCKS! It’s like they went for jojo mixed with castlevania and ended up adventure quest mixed with scooby doo. Watch D (stupid name) plop along on his horse while corny music plays. How many times does D explain he’s a man? This is stupid. It’s adventure quest stupid
Martin Latour likedVampire Hunter DDon't watch this for the movie, what makes it interesting is the art style and general vibe of it. Worth a watch.

pretty classic vibe. the dub is interesting for sure. ya know, I think the main girl's skirt could have been a bit shorter. cool monster designs. animation can get a bit slidy at times, but still something anime horror fans should watch. you think he goons with his mouth hand?
scaryvalentine lovedVampire Hunter DD is just him fr. Pretty good besides the unnecessary nudity. I give it a good 8/10 and I always really enjoy the older anime style🤞🤞.
Baers trash taste lovedVampire Hunter DI kind of want to watch more 90s/80s anime’s Definitely enjoyed the monsters as well.
