Moviegoers are saying
Carlson Young's directorial effort 'Trust' starring Sophie Turner has left audiences deeply divided, with most agreeing that while Turner delivers a committed performance and Georgie the dog steals every scene, the film suffers from a bizarre plot structure that traps both protagonist and audience in a utility closet for two-thirds of the runtime. Despite universal praise for the cast's efforts and some genuinely suspenseful moments, viewers consistently describe the execution as flat, uninspired, and plagued by massive plot holes.

🍂🏵️ Lola 🏵️🍂Aug 21, 2025Paramount tossing this into a small amount of theaters instead of quietly burying it on Paramount+ is honestly the boldest choice here. Sophie Turner tries, I guess. The cast honestly feels like they were all given different scripts from different genres and told to just…

sophie honey… this sucks
Clay Werner dislikedTrust.9 - This is one of my most talked about movies this year because I can’t quit telling people how stupid & nonsensical it was. I almost want to rate it lower the War of the Worlds to be honest but it wasn’t at least all soulless corporate slop. There’s spoilers here I won’t even mark because you…
zxki dislikedTrustAfter seeing this was starring Sophie Turner, I put my hopes up and trust in. Unfortunately, the movie reaches its peak ten minutes in, at a certain transition. From then onwards, it's a downhill spiral of overcooked generic nonsense. The acting and everything that comes along with it is on the…

This was so dumb. Science and common sense took a back seat as well as acting and dialogue along with story telling. And you had latent here. You didn’t use it, much like using your brain when choosing to write this film.
Jen likedTrustThis was a movie I put on while doing other things and still was able to follow along. It has some rough acting at times and is predictable but I didn’t hate it.

SCSummer CampagnaSuspenseful, but not a great plot
MCmatthew clokeyThis is a bizarre script for a movie, like they threw a bunch of ideas at a wall to see what would stick. Very large holes in the plot, yet, somewhat impossibly it has redeeming parts, like the Epstein thing, or, Katy Sagal outstanding as a supporting actor. I guess it's…

The plot was clear, but the way it was executed could have been better. The way she was trapped in whatever heater type room, wasn't that convincing that she was really stuck in there. The way that the guys broke in and went about everything was lack luster as well.
SMSpice Meekstoo many holes in story plot.
