Uh dare I say, the greatest and most homoerotic film ever made?

JayMar 20, 201374/100 There are 95 reviews for this film on Letterboxd as I write my own [10 YEARS LATER: There are now 16,000], and roughly 95% of them, judging from a quick skim, include the word "fun" somewhere. And it is enormously fun, which is distinct from being funny. Though it's…

I’m a simple woman - I like practical effects, and i like when very smart and funny people make B movies

One of my favorite line reads in a movie is when Kevin Bacon says, FuuUuuUuck. YouUuUU.
Joe ANov 26, 2012It's too easy to ascribe this film's success to its enthusiasm with which it gives shape to its tribute to the B-style monster movie. If we did that we would be remiss in acknowledging the fact that this film is extremely well made and has a script approaching…

Absolute cinematic masterpiece. Did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did, had the perfect amount of goofy and practical effects and still told an absolutely solid story. Surprisingly good acting and storytelling. Actually a rare 10/10 movie for me

Tremors is a fun mix of humor and horror, balancing cheesy scares with moments of genuine tension. While it left me a bit freaked out as a kid, it’s not a film I’d revisit often. It’s entertaining enough, but doesn’t quite hold up for repeated viewings. Rating: H - 5/10

One of the most underrated creature features out there! I don't know why I waited so many years to watch this again. Great cast here and practical effects. I have no faith in multiple sequels, so I'll probably treat this as one and done.
I’m sure this is a banger B-movie horror comedy. If you want a movie on in the background, I bet this is a good one. Won’t watch again but I’ll look cool saying I’ve seen this. Crazy it goes on for like 7 movies

Horror/comedies often tread too far to one side or the other of that fine line; Tremors walks it like a tightrope.
Tremors wants to be funny, but it spends too much time winking at the audience. More than anything else, it looks like the sort of movie that might have been put together so that tourists visiting Universal Studios could see a movie being made.
