    Yeah the flying is amazing and it has the most thrilling action finale I’ve seen in a blockbuster in years but honestly one of the most exciting things about this movie is that Tom Cruise finally made a movie that acknowledges he’s getting older

    I’m surprised I loved this one so much. Top Gun (the original) is not great in my opinion. Maverick squeezes out every bit of lore and connection from the first movie and tops it with a better story. Lots of fighter jets, of course.

    Not only honors and respects the legacy of the first one, but surpasses it in every regard from the characters and their development to the music and visuals. It truly was a special experience in theaters after coming back from deployment to watch with friends and family. 9.7/10
