Ken Russell to my surprise takes the who's goofy idea about a “deaf, dumb and blind” pinball messiah kind of thematically seriously and stylizes it into one of the biggest, most bombastic, tonally insane glam rock surfaces you've ever seen as a means of genuinely exploring…
Josh LewisJan 13, 2017my mom was watching this the other day and i kinda spaced out and thought she said it was tommy boy (1995) so i just stood there in confused silence for about six minutes wondering where the hell david spade was

A great movie coming from one of my favorite albums, Pete Townshend proves himself a talented storyteller along with musician. I loved the plot, the acting, and the musicians and actors who made appearances. But the heart of it all is the music. Prob a 7.5/10
Brilliant album and so cool to have it performed in a movie like that. Has to be one of the best concept albums ever for that. And it’s apparently the first rock opera ever. It was a bit weird but still aged great and had a lot of big names.

Not what I expected in terms of adapting the musical. Had some cool shots and interesting symbolism at times, but overall felt like a fever dream
It's alright, I still think the best way to enjoy the story is with the album and the lyric sheet.
