The hero sings his own theme song to psyche out his enemies. Next level move.
Patrick WillemsApr 9, 2020The production design is fantastic, as is the music– but the editing and structure is so chaotic I couldn't enjoy– much less understand– what I was watching. Too dumb for it! Sorry! Still gonna whistle Tetsu's song all day!
demi adejuyigbeDec 22, 2012arguably the best set design ever. and man, that gun hitting the piano. extremely sexy.

There comes a point in which an artist, after developing all of the components of his cinematic vision independently through experimentation and genre variety, makes his style evolve up to a point of reaching a peak. This peak represents the stability of it all, and has a…

Rafael "Mister Movie" JovineFeb 17, 2023Eighty minutes of glorious action tied together by a barely comprehensible plot. I loved it.
Jamelle Bouiethe average yakuza film, in my experience, already has a sizably impenetrable plot, so when tokyo drifter dices that up even further into a comical cascade of non-sequiturs and weird virtual environments, i remain 110% confused, albeit entertained; a pop fantasy turned new…

Loved the set designs, the colours, the visuals and the overall atmosphere, but I got a lil lost and confused with the plot. And there was nothing special about it, overused in a way u know, but I guess that wasn't the case in 1966. Alright as a whole.
Memorable characters and beautiful but quirky cinematography only held back by pacing that can only be described as absurd
