Mark MooneyNov 4, 2015Despite a series-best Connery performance I just think this is tremendously unexciting. You could jettison the first 40 minutes entirely without altering the narrative in the slightest, and its major action sequences are in slooowwww-underwater-motion, sadly yanking any…

52 I loved Thunderball as a kid, so it's disappointing to say that I fell out of sync with this about fifteen minutes in, only to regain interest towards the tail-end. Some stellar underwater photography that is unfortunately padded out and lost to its own amusement.
SilentDawnFeb 2, 2023Sean Connery is infuriatingly handsome, the Ken Adam sets are jaw-droppingly extravagant, and James Bond romances women by talking about conch chowder. I also like that everyone in SPECTRE wears an enormous octopus ring, just to make it extremely easy to figure out who is…

James Bond please stop scuba diving for one minute you’re tearing your family apart
RileyNov 10, 2020I’ve got to admit, I was slightly disappointed by Thunderball on this rewatch. It has the usual flair of the Connery Bonds, and the opening sequence is spectacular but the central storyline is lacking. Domino is a forgettable Bond girl and the villain has an incredible…

You can clearly see that the budget increased significantly. Nonetheless, this was the worst one yet. The pacing felt off, and the blue screen was horrendous. James Bond is portrayed as a rather pathetic, overly horny version of himself, constantly letting his judgment slip and acting impulsively…

An enjoyable bond film. Full of really incredible action sequences which are truly quite impressive for the year it was filmed. Cinematography in some places is a little rough in terms of quick cuts however the plot is very interesting and engaging. Rating H- 8.5/10 L- 7.7/10
My least favourite bond so far the first hour is the best I’ve seen and the last hour and 10 is the worse so far not bad just boring. Connery is amazing as usual and domino is my favourite bond woman so far because she’s so pretty. Overall 8.3/10 different cut would benefit

Eh, not my favorite, but I do appreciate the complexity of the underwater scenes. They’d be difficult to pull off even now; I can’t imagine the effort that went in to develop the technology for this and putting it into practice.
A good Bond wile not the best film because it had some goofy fight scenes and in the end when they are on a boat it’s filmed really bad it’s funny. But I enjoyed it for what it was and the story was kind of engaging.
