They used to make like 15 of these a year and I was like yeah sure whatever. Now in 2021 a good 100-minute thriller for adults featuring actual movie stars feels like a rare precious gem that must be celebrated   Bonus: it’s also a natural disaster movie. The 90s are back…

A simple but smoldering throwback to the days when all you needed to make a decent action film was a big star, a striking location, and a few cold henchman carrying those fancy machine guns with the red laser sights, Taylor Sheridan’s “Those Who Wish Me Dead” is nothing…

Unmercifully almost entirely free of incident save for a 20-minute stretch towards the end. The B-plot about Bernthal's character and his pregnant wife is the more interesting story.

Aidan Gillen is suspiciously good at playing bad, untrustworthy guys. Maybe a bit too good, some would say.. Makes you wonder

THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD is the kind of mid-budget adult thriller that we need more of in today’s cinematic climate. Taylor Sheridan’s screenplay may lack the spark of his previous efforts but he makes up for it with brutal action, a larger (burning) canvas & a solid ensemble…

Movie was predictable but had a good cast. However, Angelina Homie was not a good fit for the lead role and Jon Bernthal was underused

Pretty good movie except the ending was disappointing and a little depressing. I don’t think Angelina Jolie was good casting, she’s doesn’t come across as rough and tumble enough to be a fire jumper.

Mildly entertaining. Lacks cohesion and engagement. I think the young actor did a great job but had very little to work with. Angelina Jolie was a fish out of water. She wasn’t credible in her role.

Sheridan's flair has always been in ensembles, but here that trait is caught in a stalemate with the desire to provide an underwhelming Jolie with a star vehicle.

There’s some scary bad-guy stuff in the movie, but nothing to compare for fearfulness with its climactic forest fire.

In Those Who Wish Me Dead, Jolie demonstrates her career-long fascination with action derring-do and physical punishment, to diminishing effect. In this pulpy, borderline laughable genre picture, not even her hair is believable.
