Laugh out loud funny, suspenseful, tender and poignant, surprising. I was not expecting all the feels! What a great movie, beautifully written and acted! The music was amazing, made the whole show!

I wish more movies were made this way! You can feel the love and attention to the story the director took to make this movie based on his own grandma. Incredibly sweet, so heartfelt, very funny and sincere! Excellent cast! No agenda or alterior motive like so many movies…
This was an amazing comedy/drama and a plot line that occurs in real life all the time lately. I haven't enjoyed a movie in a while as much as I enjoyed this one :) Amazing!

Did not disappoint. Lots to laugh and appreciate. Don’t give up on our older folks. Loved the grandson and grandmother relationship. Parker Posey is always great. Felt genuine and definitely enjoyed watching about the value of friendships.

There’s no doubting June Squibb’s charisma, and it’s refreshing to see her in a lead role at the grand age of 94.
Margolin’s empathy for Thelma (he based the story on a scam perpetrated on his own grandmother) lends the film a sweetness and occasional poignancy that help mitigate much of the foolishness.
The film reflects on issues of aging and autonomy with a mostly light touch, its protagonist making a strong case for the enduring spirit of elderly folks too often infantilized by both society and their loved ones.
