Synopsis
A.J. Finn’s best-selling novel becomes a movie from Atonement and Hanna director Joe Wright. Amy Adams stars as Anna Fox, an agoraphobic child psychologist who spends all her time at home watching movies, drinking — and checking out the neighbors. When she believes she witnesses a crime across the street, she’s left wondering what she really saw, and what to do about it.
This Rear Window-inspired tale co-stars Wyatt Russell, Julianne Moore, and Gary Oldman, and was scripted by August Osage County writer Tracy Letts.

The Woman in the Window thoroughly struggles to keep the viewer interested in Anna’s fight to prove the veracity of her version of the story
Effectively moody but offering frustratingly skin-deep chills, The Woman in the Window underestimates its hero in more than ways than one.
An all-star slow-burn mystery for much of its 102-minute runtime until it suddenly decides to become a vomitous reveal-fest doling out all its twists as fast as possible. A storytelling choice, for sure, and one that wastes a talented crew of actors and fails to pay proper homage to the old-school films it references.
