In this delightful film for children Anjelica Huston pushes a pram with a baby down a hill towards a cliff just so she can catch a kid she wants to turn into a mouse. Scarier and more disturbing than most modern horror films.

have always found this film unnerving particularly the young girl trapped in the painting at the beginning. but what makes this such a fun time is anjelica huston’s deliciously grotesque and over the top performance.

One of many clear advantages this funny and scary 1989 fantasy-adventure has over most Disney products is its live-action visual bravado, evident in both the stylization of the witches and the profusion of mouse-point-of-view shots.
