Synopsis

    Oh this was sickening. It was such a smart movie, you could genuinely understand both sides of the relationship and I desperately wanted them to be happy - as much as Katie did. Just a brutal ending

    Love Robert Redford but I genuinely just didn’t like it. I think the female part was just created to be very difficult in which Barbra Streisand nailed. But I won’t watch again.

Redford and Streisand are the whole show, so scenes with various supporting characters drag. But Pollack’s film still manages to function as a glossy rebuke to the Hollywood standard of the unlikely romance.
