Atom User Reviews for The Way Back
We enjoyed this movie, credit to Ben Affleck for taking on a role that must have hit close to home for him. Glad to see him doing better.
Did not like the ending...
Pretty good movie. Felt what they felt.
Ben did a great job. Sensitive material for a lot of people with same issues. Shows the way out for some people who have similar issues.
it was ok ..
A little slow. I expected it to be more uplifting.
I hate curse words, but love movies that are down to earth. I enjoy watching a movie with a sport I use to play: basketball. You can find your back if you only believe.
An intense movie, Ben Aflick was masterful.
storyline was not what I expected by ads. could of been better for his come back movie
Go see Guys. solid movie all around
The Way Back is not a basketball movie. Seriously, The Way Back is NOT a basketball movie. The film is a realistic look at a person trying to live day by day. Affleck’s portrayal is shockingly raw considering his personal life. If you are okay with a grounded movie with basketball in it: give it a watch.
Very real, and helpful to recognize the problems/ habits we have.
This is a very enjoyable movie. I went in with low expectations but have to say this is one of the better movies so far this year and we go to the movies every weekend. Ben Affleck is outstanding.!!!
great movie. Ben Affleck did a unbelievable acting job.
left a lot of things open at the end which made the movie kinda stupid
The ending could have been more exciting.
Ben afleck is phenomenal as usual!!
pretty good movie, except maybe 20 of the last 30 minutes
I mean yeah there were points in the movie where you may get frustrated with Ben Afflecks character but overall I thought it was a very feel good movie at the end. I think it’s a heartwarming must see but maybe leave the kids at home because of some of the adult content
Metacritic
Muscularly directed by Gavin O’Connor, whose facility with emotional dramas with sports connections goes as far back as 2004’s Miracle, The Way Back is elevated and transformed by one of Ben Affleck’s strongest and most convincing performances.
Let it be known that The Way Back – in which Ben Affleck plays a drunk who once walked away from basketball glory and is offered a chance at redemption when his old coach has a heart attack – is possibly the most melancholy sports movie ever made.
