WesSep 2, 2016"There are secrets in every corner... Do you not feel it? Do you not see it?" An achingly sad movie about the dangers of collectively denying the reality of tragedy and suffering and constructing a deceptive mythology of public misinformation for a presumed greater good.…

“How do you know he has feelings for me?” “He never touches you.”
I.V.Sep 25, 201595/100 Serenely volatile cinema, and as gorgeously engulfing as anything M. Night Shyamalan has ever crafted. I usually try to not be one of those viewers that proclaims a particular film as "misunderstood" or "underrated", but I still can't fathom how the general…
SilentDawnApr 21, 2021normally i think that talking about movies this way is a waste of time but i truly genuinely in my heart of hearts believe that if you don't like this movie it's because you're an idiot

BriannaAug 2, 2015The camera, the editing, the score, the performers, the characters, all of them reaching out and having faith that they'll be pulled in the right direction. All guided by imperceptible senses, and appropriately erratic for them. The sad part is that they can never get…

I don’t care what anyone says; this movie is one of M. Night Shyamalan’s finest works. (I know, I know, that’s not saying a lot. Let me have this okay?)
Flaherty likedThe VillageThis was when the wheels started falling off the bandwagon Shymalan bandwagon. People kept expecting the twist of the 6th Sense. This didn't have one, but it's a great little movie that forces you to confront the small horrors we permit as a society to keep true brutality at bay.
Elizabeth likedThe VillageI really enjoyed this moving and finding out the lore behind it
- Ryan Welsh is "meh" onThe Village
Kinda boring but good ending
Samuel Gutierrez likedThe VillageThe cast good and the acting was solid. But the aesthetic of the movie just kinda sucks. And the beginning of the movie was rlly boring up until 50 mins. The plot twists were pretty good but it was kinda early to show them.it could have been better if they didn’t show noah so soon
ChungiBoi likedThe VillageThis film’s biggest strength is its creepy atmosphere and weight of inclement danger. The problem for me is that even though the twists were surprising, they killed that atmosphere and tension for me. I think Shyamalan delivered what his goal was, it just didn’t fully work for me
- Morgan is "meh" onThe Village
huh… this is definitely… one of the m. night movies ever 💀 i tried my best to get into the drama they were setting up but my god it just dragged on and was boring and they didn’t do much to make the reveal of the twists feel satisfying like it was cool i guess but… too boring
Noah Eto likedThe VillageAlmost put this as loved. Super underrated, and i don't know why more people love this movie. The twist was surprising and a great shift to put Bryce Dallas Howard as the main character. I loved that the monster was never real. Made the mystery of it all more intriguing. 8/10
Bea is "meh" onThe Village3/5⭐️ I expected more from this film. I thought it was going to be more of a psychological horror movie, but it ended up being more of a thriller. It does have some mysterious elements and explores how people can manipulate others by making them believe that monsters exist.
