aliyahOct 22, 2020You may see it as a story of teenagers being dismembered by a chain saw killer but I see it as a like minded family trying to give their ailing grandfather one last shot to do the thing he loves best ❤️

liam fOct 31, 2020Easily one of my top horror films if not my favorite. The imagery is never not bold and horrific. The atmosphere is so claustrophobic and tense, sometimes it’s even irritating. Which makes for a consistently tense experience where, no matter how disturbing things might…

I watched this half asleep on someone’s floor idk where but it was so scary and cold I just woke up to heads getting sawed off that was a core memory
emz dislikedThe Texas Chain Saw Massacreummmmmm it was definitely a movie
Damien dislikedThe Texas Chain Saw MassacreI get the cult following but I fell asleep a couple times. Only “good” stuff is the last 10-15 min maybe. And it’s not that good. Don’t know why leatherface is a cult icon. He doesn’t compare to Freddy and Jason and myers at all. I would assume because not supernatural. Meh

A absolute classic a must watch for everyone great for it’s time along with a low budget it holds up incredibly well and overall a classic
Murph is "meh" onThe Texas Chain Saw MassacreRating: 5/10 I can see why it’s considered a classic. Solid idea for plot and macabre. This movie definitely walked so others could run. However it is definitely a low budget 70s movie…gore is left up to the imagination and many slow scenes could be cut out entirely. Definitely would have enjoyed…
GENAI likedThe Texas Chain Saw MassacreI’m not gonna lie… I didn’t… LOVE it. I expected it to be scarier, and apart from the 4 moments where Mr. Leather killed and was very fast/efficient for such a large man, it honestly wasn’t. The characters were pissing me off but I loved Sally’s willingness to hop out of windows-

i like this movie HOWEVER i think it is absolutely foul that they made one of the main characters a wheelchair user trying to escape the killer in a super handicap inaccessible environment. like? 😭
Steven Erick dislikedThe Texas Chain Saw MassacreHow this has spawned several sequels and remakes is beyond me.

USER SCORE (190)
Generally favorable reviews based on 190 Reviews
As much as any surrealist arthouse flick, Texas Chain Saw feels like a nightmare made real, an inescapable but entirely authentic vision of pure hell.
Tom Huddleston
Time Out
No other later horror film – and certainly none of the many sequels to this one – captured so well the strangeness of living through a long night of evil and emerging into bright sunlight, with its tacit promise of restorative justice or virtue, or just normality.
Peter Bradshaw
The Guardian
The film has outstanding sound effects, art direction and editing, and a clutch of effective, if necessarily, one-note performances.
