Atom User Reviews for The Sun Is Also A Star
The book was great but this did not translate well on the screen. They changed some key scenes in my opinion. Also found the soundtrack lacking.
if you read the book...you might not quite like the movie version. it's a good movie just not a good book adaptation.
Yara Shahidi carries this movie. Charles Melton(her co star) needed to up his game to that of yara but fell short. Also, why have 2 actors play Jamaican but have bad accents ( just cast Jamaicans instead)
It was an exquisite movie, critics would give it a people’s choice because it involves all emotion at the exact point and time
A chill movie, easy to watch :)
It was a good clean movie
I loved it. I don't normally watch romantic films but I wanted to support Nicola Yoon's second book turned to film. It was nice to see the guy so into the girl
I wish I would have waited to see it on Netflix so I could have turned it off ten mins into the movie!😒😒
Cute but not believable
I did not read the book. But I could understand how the book would be better than the movie. Not a lot of movies based of books get it right. The story itself was very predictable but in all general what love story isn't? It is a good movie but I would not watch it again. What I really loved was the music.
much better than expected.
trailer was better, but still cute
Wonderful love story
While time is likely on the side of its leads, their chemistry only goes so far in what feels, finally, like a half-baked movie.
As talented as Yara Shahidi and Charles Melton are individually, they don’t have much chemistry.
Russo-Young (“Before I Fall”) takes some considerable risks in her direction to make The Sun Is Also a Star look different from the typical romantic drama. But not all of these creative decisions pay off.
