Inspired by true events and the whistleblower who started the social media reckoning we’re seeing play out today, this Aaron Sorkin original screenplay is a companion piece to the hit film The Social Network and a true David and Goliath story. Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.
The writer Aaron Sorkin is too good to be working with Aaron Sorkin the director
I’ve come to the conclusion that David Fincher actually deserves MORE credit
imagine being such a villain, you get two movies before you actually die
Aaron Sorkin I need you to lock in
i think this is one of the most important stories of the century - it can never be overstated or explored enough how much facebook has fundamentally and irreversibly ravaged the fabric of modern society and i honestly never want my kids exposed to social media after not…
jeremy strong really captures mark zuckerberg’s ‘evil lizard pretending to be a person’ energy. spot on casting
It might be time to take Sorkin out back old yeller style
This could've been a series of investigative articles for the Wall Street Journal
The true strength of The Social Network lay not in showing us how terrible social media was, but rather in showing us just how banal, mediocre, and driven by the basest instincts the petty men who had created it were and, by extension, just how mediocre we (along with our…
God this was bland. If The Social Network was a rapid fire machine gun this was a rusty bolt action rifle targeting a wolf. On one hand it is inoffensive, it simply talks at you for a couple of hours, over explains any semblance of what you should understand, and proudly tells you to shut up when…
A very slow movie. I knew this going in but still. Ok story but I think told 10 years too early. The social network I think had more draw and weight because of the time in between in happening and the movie. Higher meh because it wasn’t bad but would not watch again
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, especially the acting of all 3 protagonists. There is a debate presented because you are providing a platform for people to connect do you have a responsibility of what goes on there.
‼️CHICKEN LITTLE MENTIONED‼️
Now this was a good one. I still prefer The Social Network over it though. David Fincher is rarely beaten. And it was interesting seeing the situation from in the inside, on both sides. But the pacing was kinda terrible, the jumping back and forth in time made it even more complicated than it…
Can't hold a candle to its Social Network predecessor and it's not even a particularly good submission in the investigative journalism film genre, but there are some okay scenes and Sorkin dialog to balance the painfully cringy scenes. Subject matter is interesting and there's little doubt that…
COULD have been good. Has good moments with Burr. But the writing is awkward and the characters dull. It’s preachy and lacks drama. I agree with its argument, but it makes it again and again, right on the nose. It won’t land with anyone it’s trying to convince. Felt half-baked.
If you’re looking for something similar to the first one, this is not it. The tech jargon used throughout gave me a headache. This is coming from someone who is detached from Facebook and if there is an arguable upside here, detaching from instagram now as well because of this.
Disappointing. The script entertains more often than not, but the dramatic tension is deflated. The performances are quite strong, especially from Mikey Madison. Jeremy Strong's performance is odd, but good. I appreciate how this acknowledges that our media is brainwashing us.
Very powerful depiction of the harm of social media

Great movie, good storytelling
Hard to watch
