Inspired by true events and the whistleblower who started the social media reckoning we’re seeing play out today, this Aaron Sorkin original screenplay is a companion piece to the hit film The Social Network and a true David and Goliath story. Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.
Aaron Sorkin I need you to lock in
I’ve come to the conclusion that David Fincher actually deserves MORE credit
The writer Aaron Sorkin is too good to be working with Aaron Sorkin the director
imagine being such a villain, you get two movies before you actually die
It might be time to take Sorkin out back old yeller style
The true strength of The Social Network lay not in showing us how terrible social media was, but rather in showing us just how banal, mediocre, and driven by the basest instincts the petty men who had created it were and, by extension, just how mediocre we (along with our…
jeremy strong really captures mark zuckerberg’s ‘evil lizard pretending to be a person’ energy. spot on casting
If Aaron Sorkin had created The Social Network, he would have created The Social Network. Full review at ScreenCrush.
Aaron sorkin shoulda waited for David fincher to get out of the netflix sweatshop
‼️CHICKEN LITTLE MENTIONED‼️
God this was bland. If The Social Network was a rapid fire machine gun this was a rusty bolt action rifle targeting a wolf. On one hand it is inoffensive, it simply talks at you for a couple of hours, over explains any semblance of what you should understand, and proudly tells you to shut up when…
Now this was a good one. I still prefer The Social Network over it though. David Fincher is rarely beaten. And it was interesting seeing the situation from in the inside, on both sides. But the pacing was kinda terrible, the jumping back and forth in time made it even more complicated than it…
It is a really good movie, with a great story to tell, but I think a lot of people won’t like it because it is hard to keep up, a lot of information. I am not familiar with how the case happened, or how Frances looks in real life, but they definitely abused Mikey’s sexuality
What I liked about The Social Reckoning is that it was a commentary on how radicalized Meta can be and how certain hate groups can be motivated by the algorithm that Meta has created. Also, Jeremy Strong’s performance as Mark Zuckerberg is fine to say the least.
I think the parts in black and white were pretty cheesy, also a few other aspects but asides from that, this was awesome. Now is it better or equal to the social network? Absolutely not. But it is very good, and that is because of the case it delves into
Didn’t resonate with me the way Social Network did. This one had a lot more factual inaccuracies in order to try and tell a story instead of facing the story on a true story and changing a few elements. Just too many things were changed.
I liked some of the creative choices, but I wish they leaned more into the drama side of things 💔 also why did they start so many storylines but failed to finish them it makes me wanna SCREAM
I really enjoyed the movie. It is crazy how much of an impact our social media plays into the content and media you receive daily.
