Atom User Reviews for The Snowman Trek
Instead of focusing on the runners and route the filmmaker chose to belabor how the guides were holding back the athletes. Too much dialogue. Repetitive and rambling. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews by others - this is a bad movie.
The theaters sound system played the bad sound track so load my ears hurt. The project was not planned well and turned out sort of stupid for a adventure story. Could of had potential if it had been planned better. KW
It was OK, but not great. Too much focus on the discussion and not enough on the running.
Loved it!! Inspires me to go out & tackle my own outdoor goals. Excellent movie for outdoor enthusiasts: hikers, runners, walkers... Amazing scenery! Great adventure!!
This was really bad. I love running stories, but this was terrible. The main runners were so self-absorbed, it was hard to even care if they succeeded. The bit about their goal to break the record *actually* being about sharing running with the locals and helping the guides realize what they were capable of? Give me a break. "Look at these poor people - if only they understood our high-tech gear or had a mocha and caffeine energy gel!"
I was looking forward to seeing an inspiring movie, but was very disappointed. The whole premise of putting people and animals at risk because of a desire to set a speed record left a bad impression. Dialogue, interviews were awkward.
The movie was more about this Clark guy thank two great runners. Little plot. Bad development. Beautiful scenery but I can get than on YouTube.
The cinematography was fabulous and the story well-told. Agreed with other comments that the soundtrack was played too loud in the theatre.
I liked the movie. The scenery was fantastic and seeing the interaction between the runners, crew, and horsemen was interesting and highlighted the challenges of doing this in a rural country with it's legal guide requirements as well as weather changes. It's well worth seeing.
Cool trek, a little too long
It bothered me a bit how self-absorbed the two trail runners seemed to be. Although they professed to come around to accepting the horse wranglers concerns, they didn’t really. They didn’t seem to understand that working horses need to be treated humanely. I did enjoy the beautiful scenery and I felt the filmmmaker’s heart was in the right place.
