Atom User Reviews for The Shape of Water
Del Toro’s genius for wonderful story telling and creature design really stands out, making this his best movie since Pan’s Labyrinth. Sally Hawkins (Eliza Esposito) and Doug Jones ( Amphibian Man) both turn in a wordless performances that get across the star-crossed…
I want my two hours of my life back!
Weirdest movie ever....
#MustSee Not for the kids but it’s a good love story.
very much liked it, found some scenes were disturbing and unnecessary
Visually stunning with amazing art direction but the romance is was marketed as was severally lacking. All relationships are fully fleshed between characters besides that of our protagonist and the monster. Beautiful idea but poor delivery.
feel like the first love
beautifully filmed ..mesmerizing..kept my attention the whole way thru..
Cinematography and acting are superb. The story is ludicrous. Don’t waste your time on this dreamy fantastical nonsense that makes no attempt to even be slightly realistic.
I wish there was more backhistory.
The Shape of Water is a masterpiece! Must see.
Guillermo del Toro is just a great filmmaker i inspire to be like him
It's a very beautifully made film.
I loved it! Warmed my heart ... Very beautiful movie.
Everything you expect from Gilleromo del Toro
Absolutely amazing. This movie really brings you into the moment. Right into those perfectly coordinated scenes.
The monster movie I’ve been waiting for. Loved it.
Good Movie
Best movie of the year.
Best film I’ve seen this year
A must see! Loved this movie.
Wonderful, wish it never ended. Hope their is an extended version when released after theaters.
Another masterpiece by Guillermo del Toro!
That's what you call real true love
Absolutely stunning film, from the environment to the costume design to the sound steak. Great acting and chemistry between characters on screen. There're several underlining message you can take from the film, but it is overall a gorgeous romantic film.
Amazing
it was original and the acting was superb. definitely worth the watch
Not an amazing film, but you definitely feel for the characters.
Well done and all the above
Beautiful must see
one of the stupidist movies ever made
I didn't like the bestiality in it ...
good movie but a lot goes on in it that you have to watch to understand
Creative, and beautiful to look at, but the story is very simple, and lacks depth. Inspired performances, but a too easy tale, that belies the complexity it attempts to address. A good movie but NOT a Best Picture contender.
Weird and violent
felt like it was trying too hard to be different. beautiful film but not too much going on story wise
Guillermo created nothing short of a timeless masterpiece with The Shape of Water!
absolutely beautifully shot, beautiful messages, phenomenal casting!
Predictable, softcore bestiality porn, possible parents of Abe Sapien
Its great, you need to see this!
Not what I expected. Very different. Unique mixture of genuine, gentle, loving, vulgar, cruel, and violent. Artfully done. Another view of racism, bigotry and life. So much was thrown into this movie, there will be many points of view.
great commentary on bigotry wrought from fear and ignorance. Lovely romantic portrayals, too.
One of the best movies I’ve ever watched.
The idea is original but I felt that the movie lacked depth.
Such an amazing movie! :)
Very strange, but worth it. I’m still not sure how I feel, but it was entertaining.
Gorgeous film with exceptional performances by Hawkins, Shannon, and spencer. A dark fairy tale with social commentary and a sense of romance from beginning to end.
