Atom User Reviews for The Senior
I am living my story now after I was used and trashed. No one care about me. This movie gave me powerful hope but still no one cares about me.
Wonderful movie, we laughed, we cried, we also cried tears of joy, the movie is very inspiring especially it's message of the power of forgiveness and reconciliation!
Feel good moxie of the year!!!
Great cast, they fit together.
This makes you want to get up and keep going.
This was an amazing movie. Sports players all over should watch this movie. It is a very inspiring film.
awesome movie, such great values and great ending we came out of the theater really encouraged
great inspirational movie.
It was a good movie of hope and forgiveness. Not just of others but also of yourself.
Enjoyable. A Lifetime movie for football fans.
very inspriring
This was a really sweet movie about some important themes that a lot of people in our society can relate to. I do want to give a warning that there is some father son related tension around fighting and violence. There also is a mild christian religion element. I like to throw that in there because if you're live in a theater and either of these things are problematic for you may prefer to watch the movie privately in your home. The movie was touching, but not enough to make me cry in public.Which is my favorite kind of movie to see in the theater.
Awesome movie! Funny and tugs at your heart stings. Inspirational as well!
great movie. the character was a great mentor and showed by example.
Every Football team, sports team, and team everywhere should take their teams to see this movie. To watch an unbelievable dream come true nearly 4 decades after it first came into fruition was so amazing. No one can ever tell you that you can't because until you have given your all, you never know how much you are capable of!! Dream Big, and then see it through!!
I absolutely loved it!
Inspirational movie. Gives us hope!
The movie was great. Really makes you reflect on your own life. Would recommend that everyone sees this movie.
it was a good Sunday movie and I would not have chosen it if I had to pay 16 plus for it.
Encouraging story that is a must see for anyone! I heard about this but never realized how hard he really worked!
Very inspiring story. It's definitely a must-see for families with older kids....
Inspired by true events
Nice moral of the story
Inspiring, family friendly
Love the story!
Incredibly heartwarming, feel good story. Made for a fantastic date night with my wife who has no interest in football, but truly enjoyed the storyline.
It’s an inspirational film, but my heart was pounding at the training sessions. It’s a lot for an 59 year old high school senior
Such an inspiration to us all. My kids are in taekwondo and we had a full discussion about perseverance and pushing through!
It was nice movie..
Me and my family loved the movie it was a great story about one man's perseverance we laughed we cried it was all around great.
Just came back from seeing this, my husband and I absolutely loved it. Fantastic storyline, great acting and not one curse word in the entire movie! Highly recommend this.
Great story of overcoming an abusive father and childhood. Finally realizing it was time to break that family cycle. Working towards a 35 year old dream to play his last year of football eligibility at the age of 59. Overcoming the jokes, taunts, injuries, a son he had alienated and treated like his father treated him. Based on the book by the same title and a true story.
The story is kinda predictable and has pacing issue but not bad just a solid movie
Life lesson to be learned
Good movie. Positive messages. Uplifting true story.
Love the message of redemption and reconciliation.
This movie was based on a true story, which made it very compelling. While the story was rather predictable, it was still very good to watch. The actors were wonderfully cast and did an excellent job making the audience care about the characters. The main topics are forgiveness and regret, and both my husband and I found the story enjoyable and compelling.
Maybe the best movie I have seen all year.
An inspirational come back story with an amazing cast. Our family loved it!
Feel good movie!
It was inspiring how hard Mike worked through injury, age, and regret to reach his dream. It was a great example of a marriage where spouses support each other. He was a mentor of his younger teamates through encouragement.
This movie is inspiring and motivational. Age isn't just a number; you can do anything you put your mind to. As a 41-year-old woman trying to join the military, this movie gave me hope.
Love it. Great cast and the story flowed well. 0 Hot Tub Time Machines however
This was an inspirational movie that was a tear jerker for my wife. Overall it was amazing. Another great film!
Finally a good feel movie with no cussing. My husband and I enjoyed it very much. Grateful for the person who paid it forward!
Great movie, hard to watch the flashbacks in his younger days. Gives you hope that you should never give up. Thanks for the tickets.
A wonderful reminder that second chances are possible. It’s never too late! Trust and believe.
was a fun, true story. had no idea this actually happened in real life, is comical to think a 59 year old played collegiate football and didn't get significantly hurt. wild true story
I saw the preview and knew I had to see it. My husband and I loved this movie!!! Great story, great cast and it made you love the main character and supporting cast. This is a must see if you love true stories.
Thank you, Atom, for the free movie!

For an hour or so, director Lurie tackles the tropes lightly as we see lots of football practices, and a few games, and not a lot of anything else. And it plays, helped by the fact that the formidable Masterson doesn’t need a lot of script to get across a flinty “West Texas Gal.”
Lurie is especially good at the narrative and character elements of the practice and game scenes, using them to move the story forward and build to the kind of resolution we look for in underdog sports stories with compelling emotional stakes.
At its heart, The Senior is about forgiveness and second chances.
