Synopsis

After putting together another Broadway flop, timid accountant Leo Bloom teams up with down-on-his-luck producer Max Bialystock in a get-rich-quick scheme to put on the world's worst show.

    At first I thought the theatrical acting was a little off putting, but 5 min in it made a lot more sense being more of an actual show. The humour was amazing, the songs and choreography were on point, but I felt the ending became a bit slow. Would definitely recommend.

    The Producers is a comedic gem! With a stellar cast led by Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, it delivers non-stop laughs and toe-tapping musical numbers. Mel Brooks's genius shines through, making it a joyous celebration of Broadway and hilarity!

    Matthew Broderick was incredibly bad as Leo Bloom while the rest of the cast and the songs are just ok. The only standout actors were Uma Thurman and Will Farrell.

    I enjoy the song and dance portions but the in between lacks a little. Great casting. Great sets. Pretty colors.

    Such a funny musical, but too long for me. I think 20 to 30 minutes should have been trimmed.

The theatricality is off the charts. Lane aims for the balconies; Broderick tones it down for the camera a bit.

The best two performances belong to Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell. For the film to work, though, the two best roles should belong to Tony-winning Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in the title roles.

There's no attempt to address the show's endemic weak spots--a slow start and a contrived end. Mostly Stroman just lets it rip. But in some respects the movie is an improvement on the show.
