KarstenOct 5, 2015I'm not sure I'd really call The Orphanage a horror film. It certainly has horror elements—haunted house, ghosts, brief scenes of gruesome gore—and its atmosphere is positively chilling, but the overall emotion that the film inspires isn't one of fear, but one of sadness.…

Wow. Easily one of the best horror films of the 21st century. What a film, I'm pretty speechless right now. So spooky and creepy. I seriously had shivers going up my spine several times throughout the movie because of how genuinely creeped out I was.
EvanOct 20, 2018that one scene where she's playing that knock knock game with the kids......ummm yeah ¡NO GRACIAS! so this was not what i was expecting it to be at all.....had a few good twists and scares and then it turned sad and y'all i was not prepared.
🤎jess🤎Oct 24, 2020you could NEVER make this movie in america and for that reason american horror will never reign supreme

if my adopted kid started planning a ghostly reunion with their imaginary friends, I'd simply return him

Pretty good horror film from an era in which horror was 90% flaming rubbish. Directed well and you can tell Del Toro had a hand in the production. Creepy and unsettling, builds tension very well. JA Bayona is rather good at making films seemingly
9/10 Very well written and executed. Horror aspect leads the ambient of the story while small yet big clues play as something they are not. Sad and tragic ending leaves you broken as you had the same view as the leading character.

honestly really good w an interesting story, but won't be watching again bc my maternal instincts kicked in and i was so distraught w how he died😀 at least they seem happy in the end even if they're dead
It’s a movie that I almost always watch. The first time I saw the movie I didn’t understand the meaning of it, after the second time I cried a lot

A decent story but unfortunately not very scary. I really enjoyed the ending but it was a bit of a chore to get there.
I dont feel like its a horror movie at all. Its more like a love story between mom and son. I really like it 💖
