honestly that’s a reasonable reaction to being forced to go to church

Ultimately a movie about how poorly equipped rich, emotionally distant WASPs are to deal with raising a kid with ADHD

“It’s all for you, Damien” is definitively one of the most horrifying scenes ever put to film
Megan (stoobs) CruzOct 28, 2021every time gregory peck answers the phone in this movie he looks so startled as if he’s a time traveler who just transported to the seventies from the 1700s and has no idea what phones are but is trying to act cool so he doesn’t blow his cover.
eelyJun 27, 2021I’ve had a complicated relationship with this movie for more than half my life, as a child it frightened me, and in my teen years I had a friend named Damien who my group of friends and I would always say “ITS ALL FOR YOU DAMIEN!” in jest during some of the best years of…

8.7 - Incredibly underrated. Chilling is the best word for this. Should be considered close to the tier of The Exorcist. Deaths are well done, acting is phenomenal, & style is very classic 70s. It toes the psych/religious line perfectly without fully crossing into supernatural.

i feel like so many horror movies now rely heavily on gore or jump scares that this was infinitely scarier because of the subtlety of it. it was so clean and simple and that’s exactly what made it so chilling. the quiet fear you feel right after you finish this movie is unmatched

A chilling classic, skillfully crafted with its era's unsettling atmosphere. Even today, it’s tense and haunting, with its exploration of good vs. evil playing out with eerie precision. The film’s eerie mood and sharp direction leave a lasting impact. Rating: H - 8/10
This one gets a lot of love, but it’s still not enough. It’s rare that a single movie can boast TWO of the most memorable death scenes in movie history, but this has it. Peck is timeless and the good vs evil story is rarely done better. Top 10 from the 70s no doubt.
