    Not the most memorable or compelling of the Universal monster movies by any means but Karloff is actually quite terrifying here. Those shots of him staring into the camera are really effective.

    8.2/10 Karloff’s portrayal as Imhotep is a well crafted performance within a atmosphere that is true to the horror genre. To see the persona that is creepy, threatening and mysterious and use that in a way to portray the stories dark nature is brilliantly a gift to the audience

    Karloff owned the golden age monster genre. An epic story told in under 90min. Grand in scale of set/costumes, though doesn’t have the punch of story like Frankenstein does. Beautiful and haunting. Universal Monsters are ageless.

    i’m sure this movie was good for it’s time, but watching this now just seems to be a mockery of Egyptian culture and history also the archeologist fell in love like in 10 minutes :/ Boris Karloff was rolling in the dough dude

    Solid Universal Monsters feature if one of the weaker of the main ones. Similar themes and tone approached here as in other UM films but you can’t complain because it works. It could’ve done with more ‘Mummy’ however

    Definitely the best version in my opinion right next to the 1999 remake. Boris Karloff’s Mummy has an edge that most creatures from that time didn’t, makes for an awesome viewing!

    The storyline was great, but I felt the scenes were drawn out. However, since it's an older movie, I was expecting that.
