This did nothing for me but Dracula uses dynamite as his main weapon so I couldn’t go lower than a 3 and still live with myself.
Joel DuscherSep 9, 2024Annual Halloween screening. Goddamn this is a handsomely made film, especially the HD transfers out now The anamorphic widescreen cinematography is gorgeous and the FX hold up so well, from the practical effects to most of the matte-paintings. Amazing to think this was,…
Joe LynchOct 7, 2019The Monster Squad is the epitome of cinematic comfort food for me. The kind of movie that you never tire of watching. One you can throw on when you’re not feeling well or can’t decide on something else to watch or just need something familiar. Watching it feels like…

What do you get when you use the perfect mixture of The Goonies profanity and comedy added with the horror elements of The Lost Boys? Just one of those fantastic gems from the 80s that you’re glad exists! What was great was all the practical effects!
If you’ve never seen this, think The Goonies meets the Universal movie monsters. Honestly, I love this movie way more than The Goonies. The kids are great, the monsters are awesome, and this movie has the absolute best Dracula since Bela Lugosi.👍🏻👍🏻

I love this movie, it started my obsession with the monster. But this movie also broke me in ways a movie has never broke me. So thanks. haha but i definitely recommend this movie, it’s a good one. Some people don’t agree but i like it.
loved this as a kid. brings back great memories. if you have kids that haven't outgrown cheesy scary movies grab some pop corn and put this on. it does have a few adult references, but not too gory.

Battle doesn’t start until third act. But it’s a lot of 80s fun with a group of pre-teens being the only thing standing in the way of evil.
Fred Dekker’s second 80s masterpiece! Think Goonies but with Universal Classic Monsters!
