Gorgeous voices, excellent acting, beautiful music, slightly too long, but worth it! Made me cry.
Any other production has to be amateur hour compared to this version.
I thought that in places the opera dragged. The singers were good.

I'm new to the Opera scene. This production left me craving to see more operas. The singing was breath taking. Loved the acting, so believable. The scenery transitions were cleverly done. Our screen quality and sound were good. Bravo, Bravo! I'll be back for more Opera.

My first real exposure to opera, Wow! The behind the scenes action made me understand what an undertaking it must be to put on a Metropolitan Opera production.

MUCH TOO LONG. Movie started 30 minutes later than scheduled and the intermission was much too long. I felt trapped.
Terrible picture quality. We could barely see the actors in some scenes. Poor sound engineering as well.
This show fell completely flat. There were no ebbs and flow or heights of emotion. Porgy and Bess had no chemistry. Many of the voices were great as well as the dancers.

Wonderful production EXCEPT that the last five minutes were not broadcast where we were. Frustrating. I think I know how it turned, but we didn't see the end. Electrical cut off.
Performance was great. Transmission stopped 10 minutes before the end. Bad!😞
