Atom User Reviews for The Metropolitan Opera: Luisa Miller
great singing and acting from a uniformly sublime cast. plus a rare Verdi that is non-stop drama.
The sound was t properly synced. Theater left the house lights on during the second act.
Great opera from the beginning to the end, one of my favorite operas.
Transitional opera with themes--parent and child; jealous rage--we see in later Verdi. Intense performances; traditional production. Placido Domingo is an astounding presence.
Absolutely fabulous Verdi music, singers, acting, the works. I was spellbound!
Music, performers--all wonderful!
Fantastic voices!
More than any other Verdi opera, this one transitions from fairly routine bel canto in the first 1.5 acts to magnificently dramatic Verdi in the middle of Act II, and that lasts for the remainder. That tranition is STUNNING. All of a sudden your heartstrings are pulled. Placido Domingo did much of the pulling - what an amazing artist! But everyone else in the cast was also on top of their game.
Wonderful performanceof a little-known earlier Verdi opera.Whole cast was excelllent but Sonya Yoncheva as Luisa was the real star. Transmission and behind the scenes interviews also very good. Thank you for making it possible to experience such great art!
It’s so special to see the Opera in Atlanta. Excellent production! Enjoyed see Placido Domingo again. Thanks
singing was sensational. Placido is amazing as Miller.
I traveled 200 miles to see it, and it was worth every mile! Yoncheva, Domingo and the rest of them were fantastic!
The voices were incredible and the staging, clothing and acting was all very entertaining. So enjoyed!!
Great cast. Singing by Sonia Yoncheva came across very well in sound system. The story is a sad one. Placido Domingo continues to impress.
A wonderful story, beautiful music of Verdi and great singers - what else could you ask for - see it and enjoy it ...
sets, costumes, casting, acting and most of all the quality of the voices and the facility were all superb and flawless
Gorgeous music. First time I saw it. Would go again tomorrow!
