what a great performance
Beautifull presentation and the so0araneao ws still alive at the final curtain
It was very long and we barely noticed the length because it was so good and so intriguing. The primary singers were magnificent and the rest were terrific.
A beautifully balanced cast - and a great joy to hear it in the original French!
Fabulous cast! Best quality singers seen!
One of Verdi's greatest scores, hearing it in the original French was a revelation! Excellent cast in every way, the time flew by! Catch it on the encore day if you weren't able to attend today.
so well produced and with the world's best singers
It was 5 hours long, much time to sit and watch but the opera was wonderfully presented and the setting/singing/acting tremendous.
If the intermissions were shorter, it would not have lasted 5 hours to showcase the whole production. I know that it's customary to have those long intermissions, but really!
Jamie Barton alone makes it worth every pennie. Superbly sung and acted Rodrigue. Good production with excellent singers in all roles. Magnificent Grand Inquisitor scene, as great as anything Verdi ever wrote. Excellent bromance 'twixt Carlos & Rodrigue.
Gorgeous music, well-performed.
Wonderful! The 5 hours flew by! I really enjoyed the intermissions with interviews with cast and others even though some complained their adding to the overall length of the broadcast.
