Atom User Reviews for The Metropolitan Opera: Der Rosenkavalier
Wasn’t expecting it to be five hours long but it was great
Richard Strauss' Masterpiece. Sensitive, funny, sensational lyricism and, as always at the Met, incredible orchestration.
some sub titles were missing
longest opera evva
Disliked that they had a woman playing the role of a man. Are we in a crisis of male opera singers? This is pushing an agenda that should not be in the arts. I am sorry I went, and so did my friend I went with. Quite disappointed.
A creatively done with an early WW I motif.
Great ensemble of voices and performances. Loved it, especially the Baron. Bravo!
The sound engineer at Santana Row, San Jose needed to adjust the speaker balance. Voices were far too faint and out of balance with the orchestra. Very disappointing for such a glorious opera.
The subtitle was horrible. Don't know if it's because of being live. Many times conversation can finish without subtitle. Sometimes it just flash for a split of a second.
Overacting from Ochs
The Opera was great. Five hours are little too long. Missing some subtitles.
