Synopsis

Laurent Pelly's storybook staging of Massenet's Cendrillon is presented with an all-new English translation in an abridged 90-minute adaptation, with mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard as its rags-to-riches princess. Maestro Emmanuel Villaume leads a delightful cast, which includes mezzo-soprano Emily D'Angelo as Cinderella's Prince Charming, soprano Jessica Pratt as her Fairy Godmother, and mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe and bass-baritone Laurent Naouri as her feuding guardians.

It was horrible, the movie theater we watched it AMC Towncenter 20, didn't have the volume on for the first few minutes, someone had to go tell them and when it started playing it kept stopping more than 30 times. This happened too with The Nutcracker in December. Last but not least also for Cinderella, I didn't do my research before hand only to realize that the Prince role is played by a girl so it's a girl and a girl. It was horrible

The full-length Met production in French was a delight. Now, in English and cut down to 90 minutes for the kiddies, it's just as good. And. oh, that Prince Charming! Emily D'Angelo is a gorgeous mezzo with matching voice, and looks so suave in pants.
