While this one could have been tighter and took a while to get going, I actually really enjoyed this. The story was great and Daisy Ridley did a terrific job.

Based on nothing but its name, Neil Burger’s “The Marsh King’s Daughter” sounds like the first draft of a Shakespeare comedy or maybe a fantasy adventure about a princess who inherits a spirited wetland full of talking birds and bullfrogs. Indeed, the title first belonged…

The movie feels a little lost at times, perhaps some fine tuning plot wise would’ve benefited greatly, but goodness what an excellent performance by Daisy Ridley, it was nice to see her in something like this because sorry I’m not watching the Star Trek movies. The movie…

It was intense and surprising in the beginning. I didn't like the way it ended.

While the first third establishes the premise with a lot of promise and a compelling backstory, the rest of the film can’t rise above perfunctory cat-and-mouse dynamics that lack urgency and emotional stakes.
