"Liam Neeson on a..." *throws dart* "... ranch!" My Tribune review
Katie WalshJan 12, 2021Clint Eastwood’s shadow looms large over “The Marksman,” even if you don’t know that this quick and greasy Liam Neeson thriller is directed by “Mystic River” and “Million Dollar Baby” producer Robert Lorenz, or that it shares many of the same craftspeople who worked on…
davidehrlichJan 12, 2021You're sitting there watching this grizzled symbol of modern stoic masculinity bond with a little Mexican boy on the run from a cartel and you're thinking this seems like something Clint would have passed off on one of his buddies to direct him in. Oh hey this is directed…

Movies that appear to have everything it takes to succeed, if not to be a success, at least to become another enjoyable film, whether it is action, comedy, or horror. However, somehow during the filming and post-production processes, the final product to come as…
Rafael "Mister Movie" JovineApr 19, 2021Another familiar action thriller with predictable beats, wherein Liam Neeson as the lonely rugged old man does what he usually does. Jacob Perez as the little kid was solid and cinematography was impressive. Directed by Robert Loren, the long time producer of Clint…

Another Liam Neeson movie where he plays the same character with the same plot but this one is uneventful and boring on top of all of that. It's very generic and we all know how it's going to end. Worth watching on a rainy day.
Voltron 2005Sep 26, 2021The Marksman has a set of skills, (Some might say that he knows how to kill). But he won't use it, So not to abuse it, Maybe at the end of the movie, he will.
JBirdJan 25, 2021Old Man Action! Liam Neeson has made quite the career making the same movie over and over again. The Marksman is a step above his previous effort, Honest Thief. This time it is Liam’s job to protect a young child from the Mexican Cartel. He shouldn’t have any problems,…

- Charles Parker is "meh" onThe Marksman
4.5/10. It’s an okay movie, felt like there was just a collage of unrealistic occurrences in this movie.
R M lovedThe MarksmanRecommend. It'll have you on the edge of your seat
Doran Vereijken dislikedThe MarksmanBoring. Almost no action. It frustrated me alot
- Nick Dubberly is "meh" onThe Marksman
I was expecting a bit more action, Neeson only fires a weapon like 3 times! The rest of the time it’s just him and the boy on the road for a majority of the film. If you’re expecting something like Taken, this is not at all like that. This one definitely misses the mark.
Aidan McGinnis likedThe MarksmanThis movie was ok. Liked the plot and the ending was interesting but it was so predictable. The final fight was cool and the cop scene was frustrating to watch but it was overall just ok. 72/100
Mickey likedThe Marksman7.6/10 An enjoyable watch. Has some good action that’s believable with a compelling story. It’s all pieced together very well and the movie flows naturally.
- Gina likedThe Marksman
I forgot I’d watched it. Still was able to watch it again but twice is probably enough for me. Lots of shooting. Good story line.
Sawtaser is "meh" onThe MarksmanIt was ok, not the best i’ve seen. It was very cliche in almost every way. Neeson was great, but the story itself was lacklustre
Liam Campbell likedThe Marksman6/10, Liam Neeson has always played the badass character, but this version feels watered down.

This movie is seriously fantastic! It has an actual plot that’s great to follow (with no holes in it), it’s the perfect amount of time at only 1.5hrs and the ending was awesome! Go see this movie, Liam Neeson and the other actors were amazing!

It’s time for your annual Liam Neesoning: that cinematic tradition in which the seasoned star plays a grizzled character with a particular set of skills, which come in handy to dispatch bad guys and rescue good ones. But this year’s entry in the subgenre, The Marksman, is particularly mediocre.

The Marksman proves itself to be the cinematic version of comfort food: satisfyingly familiar but full of starch and empty calories.

The Marksman is more drama than thriller, but really more old-fashioned western than anything else — and a familiar one at that.
