I was so close to giving this a ❤️ My only problem was that the conflict over the disc was not solved by Solo and Illya, so their friendship didn’t pay off completely. 8.9/10

first rewatch since it was in cinemas back in august 2015. not saying it’s particularly inappropriate but idk why my nan thought it was a good idea to take me to see a guy ritchie movie about cold war spies when i had just turned 9 years old. overall i give this movie an 8/10 ❤️

Very enjoyable editing and characters that lead an exciting story. The story loses focus throughout the second half, but doesn’t diminish the fun factors. 3.5/5

This is the perfect example that there is no need for crazy explosions or constant shooting scenes for an action movie to be good. I really like how Guy Ritchie approaches the genre. And I loved the relationship between Solo and Illya.

It almost works. Actually, it does work, hitting the requisite number of hip notes. It just doesn’t dazzle, and that’s kind of a surprise.

Armie Hammer has given several of the worst performances in recent years — see, or rather don’t, “Mirror Mirror” and “J. Edgar.” The big surprise in The Man from U.N.C.L.E is that Henry Cavill is even worse.

While The Man From U.N.C.L.E. probably isn’t any less of a caricature of its period than Sherlock Holmes, it carries its fakeness with more snap in its step. The imaginary intrigue it generates is fleeting, but often beautiful.
