Atom User Reviews for The Little Things
pointless in the grand scheme of it all really
I’m in love with Denzel
The Little Things is ok. The movie had solid performances and was suspenseful. However, it was also fairly bland, had pacing issues, and an unsatisfying ending.
First of all, the previews look AMAZING! However don’t go in expecting like an intense movie where they’re hunting for a sicko. The plot is very different and it’s a slow burn film that isn’t satisfying. I hated the ending like really!? But I don’t know to me it was disappointing and it’s not what you think
Unexpected ending.
Not bad. The ending wasn’t great but it wasn’t predictable either. Left questions.
Oscar nomination for this one. It’s really really good
Good, kinda long and boring.
Very slow.... ending was not cool
the movie had a good cast, however, the story was a bit slow for me. this would have been a good movie to watch at home, not intense enough for me to justify going to the theater
Ends up being cop propaganda. Leto salvaged the disaster
So Many Twists. And that last one, did not see coming!
Metacritic
It’s fun to see Washington square off against a brace of performers who could not resemble him less in bearing and tone.
Although helmed by Washington’s visceral performance nostalgia-addled slow-burn, The Little Things eventually falters due to its own clichéd tropes.
Maybe the movie would work better if, like Se7en, it were set in an unnamed noir city instead of a real police department with real abuses, or if the script relied on more than genre shorthand to sell its noxious ending. As things stand, however, the only way to enjoy The Little Things is to ignore the big things.
