it's about time we stop kidding ourselves and start accepting the irrefutable fact that Willem Dafoe is the best supporting actor in the history of cinema
liam fApr 8, 2014Proof positive that a little David Bowie makes everything better.

We need a spinoff about Willem Dafoe's character pronto
James (Schaffrillas)Wes' most underappreciated, for so many reasons. Will be talking about them on the next episode of The Karstcast, available wherever you get your podcasts.
KarstenMar 16, 2015"In twelve years, he'll be eleven and a half." To me, this is Wes Anderson's masterpiece, but not until this viewing did I realize how much I truly adore it. (what angelic planet did Cate Blanchett come from?) And yes, this really is an adventure, Mr. Zissou.

“I don’t mind, wasting my time. In my mind, you’re always mine.” What if I write an entire song about how much I love you then name it after your favorite movie?

Beautifully filmed, wonderfully written, and superbly heartfelt, The Life Aquatic is so excellent that it’s hard to describe. It’s full of so much raw emotion and beauty, I find it hard to believe that so many people disregard this in comparison with Andersons other works. 9/10
Andrikk0s likedThe Life Aquatic with Steve ZissouKate Blanchett is adorable. I didn’t knew I need to see Bill Murray being badass and shooting Filipinos off his boat but am not complaining. “People say when someone says something like that about you, it’s because they’re jealous, but it still hurts. It hurts bad”
nevan lovedThe Life Aquatic with Steve Zissouan enjoyable and charming wes anderson film that brilliantly uses its maritime aesthetic to tell a disjointed yet hilarious story in a vivid setting. the script and soundtrack are both phenomenal and the stellar cast delivers a variety of great performances

Pas toute compris…
Ben Lecker likedThe Life Aquatic with Steve ZissouThis felt different to other Wes Anderson movies I’ve seen, and it wasn’t really as funny as the others. It follows the same pattern I’ve noticed in that it starts very slow but the end is amazing. I loved seeing Bill Murray in the lead role and visually it was really interesting and well done.…
Jojo likedThe Life Aquatic with Steve ZissouThis had alot of charm to it, wasn’t as polished and symmetrical as some of Andersons newer films but it had a lot of his style. I enjoyed the cinematography and the animation, however Andersons use of dialogue in this film was hard to connect to, and I wished I loved it more. 🐡

Wonderfully weird and wistful adventure-comedy about a fish-out-of-water oceanographer.

Murray is always pleasurable company, and his barely suppressed soulfulness might've supported this dawdling big-fish story if its insistent larkiness had abated and let a little reality in, as had Rushmore.
