Finally got around to see one of those movies I’ve heard almost my entire life. Especially its reputation as an 80s sort of classic. And it doesn’t take that long for you to realize why. It possesses all the characteristics of a classic; it's a film that embodies the…
Rafael "Mister Movie" JovineAfter my first viewing of this film as kid, I came away with three things: 1) I wanted to live in a trailer-park, 2) Catherine Mary Stewart was all I would really need to be happy in life and 3) I wanted to fly that damn ship. The Last Starfighter, directed by Nick…
CinemonsterIf you're going to rip off Star Wars, at least do it right. This film does.

(2020 Summer Blockbuster Series) Well, I guess you could say these Play Station 2 level graphics ... were way ahead of their time in 1984. "Things change. Always do. You'll get your chance! Important thing is, when it comes, you've got to grab with both hands, and…
Justin PetersonMay 17, 2023"The Last Starfighter" is a 1984 science fiction/ fantasy film directed by Nick Castle. Although the film was older than myself upon release of things, this was an endearing film that I enjoyed from my childhood from time to time in all its thick 80's laden glory.…

I was thinking this is a movie that could do well if it was remade.

Christian RyanJul 11, 2022Pretty funny that this movie begins with the kid being denied a student loan, that'd never happen today! Debtors prison or possible death from the Ko-Dan Armada? Brother, I'll take death every time.

Loved this as a kid Has the special effects ahead well? No, but this was a low budget 80’s film…..don’t expect miracles But what this does film have is good acting, a unique plot, good alien ‘make up’, heart warming story and a sense of belonging Don’t watch for the sci-fi special effect, but…
Jumanji meets The Wizard of Oz in a Star Wars skin. The effects have aged faulty poorly but that’s no fault of the film. Very Star Wars-sounding score which was cool and a great sci-fi vibe. Alien makeup is good and I can tell I would’ve loved this as a younger human

By today’s standards very cheesy. But I can see how enjoyable it would’ve been in the mid 80s.
This movie deserves a sequel, continuation or a reboot. It was that good
