A diverting Western that’s almost worth seeing for the unsaddled performances that director Vincent D’Onofrio gets from his cast, “The Kid” only makes a few small adjustments to the dustiest of American genres, but these errant wrinkles — a far cry from any serious…

at one point in the middle of the movie Ethan Hawke was yelling so annoyingly loud that my girlfriend woke up and started a fight with me. thank you, Ethan. (also, may someone please give Dane DeHaan a decent role in a decent movie for once?)

I came to see the divine Mr. Hawke, and I didn’t get much more than that.  He did a good job of waking me back up whenever he showed up in a scene.

Watching with the sound off whilst bartending — and I'm glad the whole Dane DeHaan as a leading man thing didn't work out. He just reminds me of DiCaprio's loser lil' brother. ('Chronicle' not withstanding.) I digress: The best I can say about this is that Vincent…

The simplistic & easy pessimism of "If you ever confess, your life is over," vs. the complex & difficult optimism of "A man's wrongs matter, but nothing is as important as what he does next," in a harsh & unforgiving world where "Everybody's growing up a little before they…

Making Red Dead 2 jokes to myself was the only thing that got me through this.

Ethan Hawke yelling never did sound so damn good. A bit of a let down for me. I mean, I should have known, Chris Pratt as a badly acted villain with a fake beard, a monologue apocalypse, too many damn side characters, Billy the Kid’s unneeded girlfriend for whatever…

I used to read about Billy The Kid when I was in elementary school and I very much enjoyed Dane DeHaan's portrayal of him here. In other news, Ethan Hawke as a cowboy will forever be a homo-erotic thirst trap for me after watching Strange Way of Life. I can't help it if…

Surprisingly good movie. Not what you would normally expect from a Billy The Kid story but I liked the angle they took. A slightly different look to the story.

Hawke takes a fairly one-dimensional character and gives it an intelligent and shaded performance.

Pratt delightfully plays against type here as a fierce bully, and Hawke looks as though he were born to wear spurs and a badge.

There’s gunplay aplenty here, but nothing about “The Kid” sets it apart from the many Billy the Kid movies that have preceded it.
