PBS kids make movies with more tension and excitement
It was OK. The ending was pretty corny but overall no regrets
Terrible the trailer ruined it
this is why you never go for vacation sex. 😆. I felt like it needed to be longer and Walter shouldn't have died. When you have eternity, you should be able to control yourself better. If he'd played his cards smarter, he would have won. Though, I do love that Evie is getting her revenge. just wish we could have had more. it felt like it was over before anything happened. two important characters were left out for half the movie. the families could have been explored just a touch. how was a vampire able to have a child? why these specific families? What kind of name is Walter for a vampire? we could have explored the relationships of Lucy and Victoria, and Walter before Evie came. why did Lucy finally turn on Victoria after so many years? why didn't she help Evie? how was Walter turned? the first vampire should have been a lot harder to kill. I was left wanting a lot more. it reminded me of how much I wanted to love Lost Boys 2.
What the h*ll lol was that
I want my money back it was so bad
I love vampire movies but this was horrible and corny twilight meets Romeo and Juliet I only didn't give it one star because of the cute actress that played the main character.
Go Natalie!
I want a refund it was a active shooter at the theater and we could not finish the movie
beginning of the movie to the middle was good, didn’t really like how they were vampires.
Your typical vampire movie. Glad I only played $3 to see it. Not very exciting at all.
This movie is a complete joke to horror and vampire movies.
it's a mixture of truth & dare and another movie that I can't recall. they left it open for a part 2.
What I could see of the movie it was great it kept getting interrupted by kids walking in and out and shushing being a disrespectful.
Loved the ending but feel the energy used to create a love story should’ve been redirected into flushing out the main characters ancestors and their love story . Also , loved the energy of the best friend !
It was a good watch to be honest. The cast was very beautiful and visually appealing. It did keep me entertained and the ending was good as well. Recommend!
This movie didn't disappoint. With a huge plot twist it was full of surprises. The main character was cast well and Game of Thrones fans will recognize this familiar face. Lovely actress. This movie goes from ho-hum to epic real quick. Don't be surprised if you come out wanting a sequel or something like that. Whomever wrote the script was a genius.
This Movies is better than expected and a great PG13 Scary Movie to see with your significant other
I didn’t like the movie and walk out in the middle of the film
Pretty good, would of liked more backstory on the vampires and more scenes with them. Maybe better as a short series than movie. Amazing sound effects and very creepy at times. Also very romantic for the first half lol.
Boring
could've ended better
It’s not really what I thought the was going to be like I thought is was going to be more scary but more romantic and jump scares and vampire stuff and that’s it
I wanted to get into it. I really did. But it was so predictable and cliche, and the climax so abrupt and anticlimactic. Which sucks because the premise was good, and Evey was an interesting character the deserved developing. I I honestly think it would have worked better as a series, since the big bad were so easily defeated.
Some scenes are way too dark. I wanted to turn on the lights!
Potential to be really good, but the last 30 minutes ruined it for me.
I liked this movie. It’s not breaking any new ground but it’s entertaining. And Natalie Emmanuel is great as the lead. This girl needs and deserves more leading roles. Get her in a ROM-Com or action or another drama movie. She’s worth it.
the movie was good till the ending. that's when it got like wtf is going on and what. the cast was good and soooo good looking lol
The trailer tell the whole story.
Stupidest movie I’ve seen in a long time
This movie will leave you to feel creep out.
Some of the scenes were predictable but the overall plot and conversations were amazing.
I really waste sure what to expect but the storyline was good. suspense was just enough to keep you interested. it did lack that big punch in the climax. Overall, a good date night movie
*spoiler maybe* Personally I thought it was a 5 until all of the vampire stuff that came up toward the end lol
Filmed a ton in the dark. Otherwise a great take on vamp flicks.
Metacritic
Director and co-writer Jessica M. Thompson establishes an unsettling mood that suggests we’re about to enter a dark and twisted world. But then eventually, her film is just dark – as in, it’s hard to see what’s happening, with herky-jerky visual effects that are especially off-putting. And when the twist comes as to what’s actually going on, it’s like: Really? That’s it?
The Invitation aims high, and while it's regularly impressive on a visual and aesthetic level, the storytelling lets the Gothic horror down in the end.
The Invitation never manages to be scary, and it hides its vampires behind a lifeless love story.
