two love plot lines, one horrific and one fantastic. cameron diaz as a love interest is rough but jack black is so good it makes it worth it. she says she hates foreplay and i think its supposed to be this attractive quirky thing. what a sad life, i hope one day she has an orgasm
Loved it. The best romantic movie ever made, it’s surprisingly fascinating from the start, it has some cliches, but that’s necesary to make the movie more wonderful. 10/10 choice to watch with your only one.

What makes The Holiday interesting - and worth reexamining more than a decade after its release - is that unlike most holiday-themed movies, it exhorts the viewer to take time for themselves, not just others. It's the ultimate self-care flick.
I’d give this film a 8/10. The writing was very good, even though some lines are a bit cheesy, especially Jack Black’s. I thought the chemistry between Jude Law and Cameron Diaz was very strong, but the chemistry between Kate Winslet and Jack Black was no where near as strong.

Why do these people not seem like real humans to me? I found the acting quiet dissappointing given that the cast is actually an impresive ensemble. Listen closely to the crying of Kate Winslet or the outbursts of Cameron Diaz. It's still a wholesome film, just not that good.
Honestly, one of the only romcoms i’ve willingly watching, and i don’t regret it. It was a wholesome plot without any annoying love triangles, instead it’s a genuine love. Seeing lives that could very well exist irl and have them find love is beautiful. Also Jude Law :)

A lavishly overstuffed gift basket of a movie.
It's formulaic but with a big heart.
The Holiday is no vacation. Sloppy writing, an overindulgent editor, and poor casting have taken an intriguing premise and transformed it into an uneven mess.
