Amanda lives in LA and is a movie trailer editor. Iris lives in Surrey and is a journalist. The two decide to swap houses for two weeks at Christmas - both trying to forget their troubled love lives, until love finds them anyway.
jude law saying "yes, i am daddy" yes 👏 you 👏 are 👏 honey 👏
i wonder how every other man in the world feels knowing that never in their lives will they ever come close to being as attractive as jude law in this movie
i can’t believe that guy did ALL THAT on his SISTER’S BED
at one point jude law goes “I’ve got the girls for new year” like who else would have had custody????? His dead wife??????!!!!!?????
my aesthetic: Jack Black talking about film scores to flirt with Kate Winslet in a Blockbuster circa 2006.
hey airbnb how do i make sure my accommodations come with a whirlwind trans-atlantic romance with 2006 jude law
the female gaze is jude law as a single dad wearing glasses and crying about cameron diaz
somehow my current mood is both cameron diaz furiously screaming mr brightside and kate winslet inhaling gas fumes and bawling her eyes out while "have yourself a merry little christmas" plays in the background
arguably the longest movie ever made
two love plot lines, one horrific and one fantastic. cameron diaz as a love interest is rough but jack black is so good it makes it worth it. she says she hates foreplay and i think its supposed to be this attractive quirky thing. what a sad life, i hope one day she has an orgasm
the cutest film ever to exist all i want in this word it to live in a british cottage with jude law ITS MY ONLY DREAM🫒🫒👀 my fav film
SHE STOPPED BY EVERY FENCE??? GIRL JUST RUN DONT BE SO DUMB
What makes The Holiday interesting - and worth reexamining more than a decade after its release - is that unlike most holiday-themed movies, it exhorts the viewer to take time for themselves, not just others. It's the ultimate self-care flick.
they don’t make romance movies like they used to. also jack black is the epitome of the female gaze in this movie.
I’d give this film a 8/10. The writing was very good, even though some lines are a bit cheesy, especially Jack Black’s. I thought the chemistry between Jude Law and Cameron Diaz was very strong, but the chemistry between Kate Winslet and Jack Black was no where near as strong.
Why do these people not seem like real humans to me? I found the acting quiet dissappointing given that the cast is actually an impresive ensemble. Listen closely to the crying of Kate Winslet or the outbursts of Cameron Diaz. It's still a wholesome film, just not that good.
Honestly, one of the only romcoms i’ve willingly watching, and i don’t regret it. It was a wholesome plot without any annoying love triangles, instead it’s a genuine love. Seeing lives that could very well exist irl and have them find love is beautiful. Also Jude Law :)
i love this movie their relationships are soooo cute especially iris and the old man 🥺 doesn’t anyone else think jasper and graham look really similar 😅??
